By using LidarKit you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site. LidarKit is operated by an independent developer, reachable at lidarconverter.contact@gmail.com.
What is provided
A set of free, browser-based tools for converting and inspecting LiDAR and geospatial files. They are provided for your own use, personal or commercial, at no charge and without registration. You keep every right in the files you process — the site processes them locally in your browser and never receives them, so no licence to your data is granted or needed.
No warranty
The tools are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Conversion is designed and tested to be lossless, and the round-trip is verified byte-for-byte in an automated test suite, but no software is defect-free.
Keep your originals. Verify converted output before you rely on it, and never treat a converted file as your only copy. This applies with particular force to survey, engineering, legal, safety and regulatory work, where you remain responsible for validating any data you act on.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LidarKit and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, nor for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising out of your use of or inability to use this site. Because the tools run on your machine and transmit nothing, the practical exposure here is limited to the output of a conversion, which the paragraph above asks you to verify.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the site in breach of any applicable law, or to process data you have no right to process;
- attempt to disrupt the site or the network it is served from, including by automated abuse of the static assets;
- interfere with, obscure, relocate or artificially inflate interactions with advertising shown on the site;
- present the tools as your own, or frame them so as to imply an affiliation or endorsement that does not exist.
Availability
The site is free and offered without any uptime commitment. It may change or be withdrawn at any time and without notice. Since the tools run entirely in your browser, a page you already have open keeps working even if the site is unreachable.
Third-party software and content
Compression and decompression uselaz-perf by Hobu, Inc., under the Apache-2.0 licence; that licence governs that component. Links to external sites are provided for reference and imply no endorsement, and we are not responsible for their content. Advertising is served by Google under its own policies — see theprivacy policy.
Trademarks
Product and company names referenced on this site — including QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, Civil 3D, PDAL and LAStools — are the property of their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility. Their use implies no affiliation with or endorsement by those owners.
Changes and governing law
These terms may be updated; the "last updated" date above will change when they are, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. They are governed by the laws of the operator's country of residence, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection you enjoy where you live.
